AnnouncementMay 19, 2026
  • +19.4% increase in total passenger traffic
  • +37.2% increase in international passenger traffic
  • +12.2% increase in the total number of flights
  • +34.5% increase in scheduled flights revenue

SKY express entered 2026 with particularly strong momentum, recording a clear acceleration of growth across all key indicators. During the first quarter of the year, the company posted a 19.4% increase in passenger traffic and a 34.5% increase in scheduled flights revenue compared to the same period in 2025 – growth rates significantly higher than those of last year, confirming the success of the company’s strategy and its underlying dynamic.

Strong momentum from international markets – double-digit growth across all indicators

International passenger traffic rose by 37.2%, nearly ten percentage points higher than the corresponding increase in 2025, reflecting the results of SKY express’s systematic expansion into new markets. The company’s continuously growing international network now comprises 27 destinations, further establishing SKY express as a gateway for international travellers to Greece.

At the same time, the company’s total flight activity grew by 12.2% (excluding Public Service Obligation – PSO flights), essentially doubling last year’s growth rate, thanks to the expansion of the fleet through recent new aircraft deliveries.

No fare increases due to fuel costs – Stress-free travel with SKY

Despite the pressures on fuel prices arising from international geopolitical developments, SKY express was the first airline in Greece and among the first in Europe to announce that it would not raise ticket prices due to fuel costs. Fares are determined exclusively by demand. The company chose to absorb the energy-related burden, drawing on its overall positive financial performance and its modern aircraft, which reduce fuel consumption by up to 15%. In addition, through its “Stress-free travel with SKY” campaign, the company turns this commitment into a clear promise to the passenger: ticket prices are final, with no additional fuel-related charges after booking. Passengers know the exact cost of their trip from the outset and can plan it with confidence and peace of mind. The passenger, the travel agent and the broader support of Greek tourism remain the company’s top priority.

With the start of the summer season, SKY express is expected to further strengthen its momentum, capitalising on the continued demand from both the domestic and the international market.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Gerasimos Skaltsas, Chief Commercial Officer of SKY express, stated: “The results of the first quarter of 2026 do not simply confirm SKY express’s upward course, they show that this course is accelerating. Across all key indicators we are recording higher growth rates than last year, and this gives us the ability to stand by our passengers even in a demanding environment. Through our “Stress-free travel with SKY” campaign we are delivering on a tangible commitment: the ticket that the passenger books is also the final one, with no additional charges due to fuel cost increases after the booking. We continue to invest in our fleet, our network and our people, with the aim of offering our passengers even more options, a better experience and competitive fares, while at the same time strengthening Greece’s position on the global tourism map.
