SKY Pets
Traveling with a pet

Traveling with our four-legged friends (dog or cat).

Carrying a small pet is possible on any SKY express route if this transportation is not subject to restrictions under applicable law and does not jeopardize flight safety in accordance with applicable international and domestic regulations and flight safety guidelines. The ability of your pet to travel in the cabin or luggage compartment depends on the aircraft type, the weight of the animal and the size of its transport cage. However, your pet will travel safely and comfortably, whether in the aircraft’s cabin or aircraft’s hold.

The reservation for your pet’s transportation can be made no later than 24 hours before the departure of the flight, either online or by contacting the SKY express call center. The pet/animal’s health book must be presented for inspection and the pet/animal must have been fitted with the required ID microchip.

A full vaccination is required which must have taken place at least 21 days before the flight and be valid on the day of travel.

In case you are travelling with an infant, you are not allowed to travel with a pet in cabin as well.

Remember that if you are carrying a pet, you should be at the check-in point at least one hour before your scheduled departure time, and you must have your pet’s health booklet to be checked.

If the pet is not accompanied by their owners, you must provide a written transfer license from them.

Pets are welcomed to SKY express flights

Trained guide dogs

We facilitate trained guide dogs for people with visual impairments, hearing impairments or other problems such as passengers with autism or epilepsy to do their job with ease! Guide or companion dogs are allowed to travel in the cabin free of charge and do not need to be in a carrier. The person using the companion animal should take every measure possible to avoid disturbing the other passengers and bring the documents certifying the health of the animal, the adequacy of its training and the right to use it. To travel with a companion animal, please call the SKY express service center or make your reservation online and then call the SKY express service center to register the transport of the guide/companion animal.

Important clarification: It is necessary to prove each time (with a document or card) that the escort dog is under training or trained to a level (e.g. Regulation (EC)1107/2006 or UK DfT Guidance etc.) which is acceptable for transport in the aircraft cabin, as long as the user has the relevant certification and proof of use of the animal. Certifications from guide or companion dog training organizations that are approved in accordance with National Legislation or are full or affiliated members of relevant international organizations such as the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF), Εuropean Guide Dog Federation (EGDF), Assistance Dogs International (ADI), etc. are acceptable.
