SKY express: Second Iberian Destination with New Direct Athens–Madrid Flight
AnnouncementNov 3, 2025SKY express, the Greek airline, as part of its ongoing strategy for international expansion and network growth, inaugurated on October 24 its new direct Athens–Madrid flight, further strengthening its presence in the Iberian Peninsula, following the recent launch of flights to Lisbon.
In a warm welcome ceremony, Madrid’s Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport received the first SKY express flight, attended by airport representatives as well as the airline’s Founder, Mr. Ioannis Grylos, together with company executives.
The new route will operate on a regular basis five times a week — every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday throughout the year, using the brand-new Airbus A320neo & A321neo aircraft, reaffirming SKY express’ commitment to innovation, safety, and comfort on every travel experience.
With this new connection, SKY express now serves a total of 27 international destinations, while by the end of the year, the airline’s flight schedule will be further strengthened with new direct routes from Athens to Hamburg, Lyon, and Tel Aviv, as well as new connections from Thessaloniki to Düsseldorf and Heraklion to Tirana. At the same time, SKY express remains the only Greek airline serving the largest domestic network of 33 destinations, ensuring reliable connectivity across the country.
