SKY express, the Greek air carrier, as part of its strategy to grow its international network, has inaugurated the new direct route Athens–Hamburg. The new connection operates on a regular basis three times a week, specifically every Monday, Friday and Sunday. After Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Berlin, Hamburg becomes the airline’s fifth destination in Germany, marking the strengthening of SKY express’ presence in a market of strategic importance for Greek tourism and the economy.

The new route is operated with the brand-new Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, which feature a reduced environmental and noise footprint. Today, the airline operates 29 aircraft, maintaining the youngest fleet of any Greek airline in the country.

With the addition of Hamburg, SKY express now steadily serves 27 international destinations, enhancing Greece’s position on the European aviation map and offering comprehensive travel options throughout the year. Recently, the airline added direct flights to Lisbon, Madrid, Berlin, and Tel Aviv to its network, while by the end of the year, Lyon will also be included in its flight schedule.

On the occasion of the first flight, Mr. Alexandros Michalopoulos, Sales Manager of SKY express, stated: “The launch of direct flights between Athens and Hamburg marks yet another important step in strengthening our presence in Germany, a market with high potential and strong interest in Greek tourism. Our goal is to offer travelers from Germany reliable options, competitive services, and access to the largest network of Greek destinations, 365 days a year.

We are very pleased to welcome SKY express as a new airline in Hamburg. The connection to Athens increases the frequency to a popular destination from Hamburg and opens up new possibilities and flexibility for our passengers – whether for city trips, island hopping or business trips.
