SKY express brings the Holy Light to every corner of Greece

Alexandroupoli, Heraklion, Corfu, Kythira, Mytilene, Rhodes, and Chios will receive the Holy Light via SKY express aircraft.

Through both scheduled and special flights, SKY express will once again carry the Holy Light from Athens to seven destinations across Greece on Holy Saturday night. Since 2017, SKY express has consistently supported the transportation of the Holy Light from Athens to the rest of the country, honoring and preserving Greece’s religious traditions and cultural heritage.

Specifically, the Holy Light will arrive at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” via a government flight from Jerusalem and will then be transported by SKY express flights to Alexandroupoli, Heraklion, Corfu, Kythira, Mytilene, Rhodes, and Chios.

With the support of its highly trained personnel and brand-new fleet, SKY express actively contributes to the efforts of the State, ensuring the timely and safe transportation of the Holy Light on the night of the Resurrection.

At the same time, honoring local traditions, on Holy Thursday, passengers on flights to Corfu will receive traditional botides as a gift, while on Holy Saturday, on all domestic and international flights arriving in Greece, the crew will welcome passengers by offering them Easter candles (lampades).
